The week of woes - Day Five
Jul. 15th, 2022 06:02 pmI forgot to set my alarm last night. Fortunately, I woke up on my own some ten minutes earlier and promptly decided to get up - that gave me ten more minutes for my (and Mum's) morning routine. Saving time is important when you know they'll close off the water at 8am!
So we went through the moves, then I baked the cheesecake that had been in the planning for oh, two weeks or so (but there was always something more urgent to do), and after breakfast Mum fell asleep in her armchair while I did some minimal writing and a great deal of crafting. The Holy Family felts are now all taped together; both Joseph and the Baby Jesus have faces, and Joseph and Mary have their headbands. That's another 10 pieces I can put away for later sewing. I'm of two minds whether I should continue with Santa or the Three Kings. On the one hand, Santa is less work-heavy, but I have to figure out the design on my own since I don't have a template. On the other hand, the Three Kings have templates but they include a myriad tiny details. So... I still can't decide which one is worse. *g*
Mum volunteered to cook today, which meant Tütensuppe, which we ate with Butterbrot, and we had cheesecake to our coffee afterwards. Then we went for a walk, for she had not been out of the house for days and the weather was very pleasant. I also had a long, pleasant phone chat with Ilonka (the former colleague whose daughter is expecting her first baby), which was fun.
All in all, not a really woeful day, and the best part is that there won't be any water pipe replacement work in the weekend, so we can lead normal lives before the woes start on Monday again.
