We got up early again, as we were supposed to have only cold water, up to an hour ago again. Well... strangely enough, in the kitchen we had hot water all day, and in the bathroom it was off for about three or four hours only. Starting tomorrow there won't be any water between 8am and 5pm, so we'll have to stock up on reserves. *sigh*

In any case, I made the red currant jam right in the morning. It's now resting under several layers of warm blankets and will be done by tomorrow. I started early because the chiropodist lady was supposed to come today; only that she couldn't because she was waiting for the electricians to replace things at her workplace. So she'll come tomorrow when we supposedly won't have any water. Joy. Not.

I managed to write a little bit today again, which is always a relief. The story progresses slowly and painfully, but after a two-year break any progress is welcome. Especially after that unpleasant thing with AO3 that left me seriously traumatized and second-guessing myself all the time whether what I'm writing is coming from me or I might have snapped it up somewhere else unconsciously. Not a pleasant thing, but, well, I must through.

I also worked a bit on the Christmas felts: cutting up more little details and fixing them to the bases with double-sided tape. The shepherd and his sheep are now practically complete, with faces and a staff and a bandana and all. Ready to be sewn together, whenever I might find the time (although I won't start on them before the quiet book is finished). I also taped Mary and the Baby Jesus to Joseph's cloak and cut out the bases for Santa and the Three Kings. So, I made good progress, but all that's still just a drop in the ocean. Fortunately, I've got enough time till Christmas. (Or so I think. In reality, there is never enough time, but let's take on a positive attitude, shall we?)

So, it was a busy day, but the time was well used. I could even squeeze in a long, delightful phone call with my friend Erna (our art teacher), so there was social life, too.
