Hot, hotter, hottest
Jun. 30th, 2022 05:57 pmI got up at 5.30 in the morning, which - for me - is an ungodly early time. But I wanted to buy lots of stuff on sale at Aldi, and when I got there later on, the early birdies (usually old ladies with a small purse) would have emptied the shelves already. I was there shortly after they opened and managed to get such exotic items as tomatoes, courgettes, cucumbers, peaches and turkey breast filet at a reduced price. Too bad I don't have a really big freezer, but considering the electricity prices it is perhaps better so...
I got home at half past 7 and it was already hot in the sunny patches along my way. Fortunately, I could go most of the distance in the shadow of our big, ugly 10-storey concrete buildings that kept the sun out of my face. Even so, I was quite wet when I got home, so I abandoned the idea to go back to the other supermarket, where I might have got other things cheaper.
Today I had to cook, too, so I made Sauerbraten for two days. I also finished the back cover of the Candy Princess quiet book, after which I decided that I've done enough for one day. The rest of the daily schedule consists of vegetating in front of the telly.
