We gathered all our willpower and nade that one-day-trip to Vienna, after all. It's always a wonderful thing, even if we are deadly tired afterwards. Like right now. But who knows what the weather will be like during Xmas break, so we used the autumn holidays, short as they are due to family obligations. *insert mild curses here*

Anyway, even though we only had some six hours for Vienna, it was beautiful as always. We bought all the Spekulatius and Zimststerne and Dominosteine for Xmas (sorry, it's a very German thing), chocolate Santas and all the other stuff.

On the educational side, The Prydain Chronicles are being re-printed again. So far only The Book of Three is out, which I happily bought at once. The rest of the series on on its way. I'll have to go to Bestsellers, the only English book-shop in Budapest, maybe they can order them for me.

I also bought The New Discworld Companion by Terry Pratchett & Stephen Briggs. I was thinking of starting to buy some Discworld novels, but them I can get here, too. Well, sometimes, anyway. But a Guide is a Very Good Thing(TM).

Unfortunately, Vienna seems to have ceased selling English videos. I so hoped to get certain Andromeda episodes, but no such luck. I don't want to collect the whole series, it's not that good, to be honest. But a few Magog- and Nietzschean-related episodes from Seasons 1 and 2 would have been nice. Ah, well, I'll have to go and ask the English Videothek if they cans still order videos for buying and if Andromeda is in their catalogue to begin with.

Oh, and my opinioon on elections in general:

Sounds like Vienna was fun, if brief and hectic.

I wonder if a search on the internet will help you to find your English Andromeda videos?

Yep, it was great fun. Vienna is always fun.

As for fidning Andromeda videos, on the 'Net, I'll have to wait until we drop our national currency in favour of the Euro, you know. Which will only take what? Four more years? *g*

I'll try the English videothek. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Good luck. I can't find any Andromeda series tapes here, or I'd help out. Maybe someone else can source the videos you want, if you beg nicely?

Well, Jenn was looking for them, but all she found were DVDs. Alas, I don't even have a DVD-player.

If your local bookstore can't get the rest of The Pyrdain Chronicles for you, just let me know!

Thanks, Ithilwen. I hope they can get them though. That would save us from the evil ways of Hungarian Postal Service (remember last year?).
