I intended to make two tags with little messages for The Thing of Beauty today. The first one, a double card, turned out quite nice and was done in no time. The second one, though...

First I managed to mess up the writing on the otherwise completed (and fairly pretty) card - I left out a letter from the most important word. I tried to glue a strip of white paper with the corrected word on it, but it looked... well, shabby. So I tore up the card. After doing some serious housework slaving, I decided to redo the card - and tore it up as soon as it was finished. It turned out really gauche. So I thought third time is the charm, and since the message was clearly cursed, I exchanged it for a different one. Card #3 is... acceptable, although still not what I've hoped it would be. But I refuse to redo it a fourth time!

Other than that, I helped Mum cleaning the kitchen board on which the spice jars stand, rearranged part of the shelves that serve as our pantry - all noodles are now safely stored in glass jars - cooked lunch (Easter ham served wonderfully in a noodle dish with cheese sauce and a salad), finally stored away the craft supplies I bought yesterday... and not much else.

As a funny card I once saw said: Getting old is not for weaklings!

Addendum: I also realized something odd: AO3 counts my posted works as 152. I've just checked: I've posted 177 stories there. Not that it would really count, but it's strange nonetheless.

Sometimes things just don't work out as planned ... no worries!
Maybe you should have left the card for the next day! ;-)

I now try to put all writing on seperate pieces of paper or card, which I then glue to the finished project. I have ruined too many cards by misspelling or otherwise messing up the writing. I also tend to stick greetings at an angle, because apparantly sticking things in straight lines is also beyond my skill level. ;)

Now, why does that sound so eerily familiar? *g*
I've learned my lesson re: writing, too. I'll never write on a finished card again!

Perhaps. But this way it is at least finished, which is a relief.

I so feel with you! Ruining an otherwise perfect card is a personal fiasco! I am often messing up words, or not writing in straight lines... especially since I am getting older!

Yep, one gets clumsier with the passing of years. I'd just love to paint some more eggshells, I even have them coloured in reserve — they've lain there for decades, literally — but I'm wary of the whole thing. My hands might no longer be steady enough for such delicate work.

I feel for you, have had many such days myself. Frustrating.

Yes, it is, but at least I'm done with the project now.
