I've put most of them up today, since tomorrow is Palm Sunday and all that. So, beware of my felt egg wall decoration:

Admittedly, it is an earlier photo, but exactly the same felt eggs are now hanging on my bedroom wall, in almost the same configuration. I don't see any sense in taking pictures of the same thing every year, but a bit of picspam always lifts the spirit, doesn't it?

If you are interested, the rest of my Easter felts can be viewed here.

Also, beware my 30+year-old, hand-painted eggshells that now are in a different vase but have looked exactly the same for the last three decades and then some:

The sinfully expensive willow twigs don't look half this pretty this year but I was glad to get them at all in the first place, so I'm not complaining.

I also put some colourful felt birds onto some artificial "blooming" branches that stand in a Turkish copper vase in the only free corner of the living room. Mum was happy with the outcome, so we are all prepared for the feast.

In other news we had rain today and the balcony leaked again. I'm losing hope that it will be fixed, ever! Fortunately, it was just a short episode, but it still annoys me to no end.

Thank you. :) I made them when I was half my current age and my hand was a lot steadier, so I'm very, very careful with them. They are so fragile!

Well, seeing that they are basically the same ones than in the last couple of years, it's easy for them, right? *g*
I haven't painted new ones for decades, literally, and the last felt ones were made two years ago. Perhaps next year I'll make new ones and send out them to my friends in a letter. They are light, after all.

That is a lovely idea! I guess packaged in little cardboard boxes and cotton or something like that, they should arrive safely

No, the eggshells won't survive. But the felt eggs can be sent disguised as simple letters, so that they won't be taxed. *g*

Lovely. :)

Things that don't get fixed are so annoying!

Especially as we requested that fix last summer, right when the whole insulation work started!

What lovely decorations! We have no tradition of decorating for Easter — it is a shame. But I will put your gift from last year out on display today.

We have been putting seven painted eggs onto the 'tree' in church each week of Lent as a count up to the joy of Easter Sunday, whilst also slowly extinguishing our Lenten candles one each week as a count down to the crucifixion — this week there will only be one lit to be blown out.

Maybe the concrete (or whatever) is actually porous? I love pussy willow, but it's been years since I have seen any.

They are — one has to be very careful not to knock them against one another because they can fall to pieces, since they are so old and dried out. I give them a layer of hair spray every year, just to make them a bit more resistant, but that can only help that much.

I think the problem is with the side window. The stuff it was insulated with 28 or so year ago might have become porous because of the very harsh sunshine this side of the building has to endure in summer.

Edited cuz my grammar sucks.

Beautiful eggs, both kind, felt and hand painted ones, and oh, the adorable rabbit cookies!

I hope your burned hand heals quickly, ouch.

Here, spring refuses to appear, as we wake nearly every day to snow, which melts by the end of the day. This morning, at last, no snow. It's been very windy, too.
