I had chores today which ate the entire morning. Still, I got to visit the craft shop on my way, and in the afternoon I did a tiny bit of sewing (about 12 centimetres of the 17 I planned to do before the thread ended, and I adamantly refused to thread in a new one). Plus, I added three very important sentences to the (supposedly) finished Chapter 8 of "Kindred Spirits" and typed up the few lines of dialogue already written for the next chapter.

Go me!

Your fingers apparently knew they were done for the remainder of the day! I am still looking for a craftshop nearer than the one I visit now and then. Driving 30 kilometres just for fun with gas prices so high is no option!

It's strange how mulling on a supposedly finished bit of writing, can help clarify your intentions and result in a slight rework that makes the whole thing better. I always wait nowadays, before making something public.

There is something very pleasurable about visiting craft shops. We have one that focuses mainly on the paper and decorative things, and another that focuses on fabrics, yarns and so on. Both tend to be very tempting!

I'm afraid I am too impatient for that, as a rule. I just want the things written and out of my hair — small wonder, considering all those never-ending WIPs I have, some of them literally decades old.

I know, right? That's why I was so pissed off when that neat little craft shop I could reach walking down the street closed. Even though I have the advantage of living in a big city and as a senior citizen can use buses and trams for free.

I completely agree. I wish our craft shops were a bit more specialized; they sell a godawful amount of stuff I don't need and the things I do need often require the visiting of several shops. If I am lucky.

We have two craft shops here, neither of which are all that interesting. Luckily, what few crafts I have attempted, I was able to order the supplies from the internet.

I'm afraid I still haven't developed the skills for internet shopping. Besides, I like to see — and touch and smell — things first before I'd buy them. *g*
