For clarification: what we call pancakes is what is called crepes in English, I think. In any case, I made them, filled them with quark-blueberry cream and stapled them like a layered cake. Mum was enthusiastic.

I also finished the gentlebear pages in their entirety. Lots of Velcro sewing, so my fingers are a bit miserable at the moment. I'll take a photo when the corresponding pages with the beehives and the bees are done, too. The iPad mini was complaining again that there isn't enough storage space, so I had to delete a few dozen pictures to be able to make more photos in the future.

Storage space of all sorts seems to be my shortage right now.

And no writing. Again. :((

We always make savoury pancakes, never sweet ones ...

I, too, do pancake cakes- only that our filling is done with tuna, feta and olives! Shortage of storage space is a very bad thing to happen!

And we always make sweet ones — except when we feel like filling them with spinach. *g*

If you live in a 53-square-metre flat (including the balcony), there isn't much space where to store things. Save for the wardrobes, which are flat and tall, so that you have to climb the ladder every time you change the bed or anything like that. Not a good thing for someone with agoraphobia.

We usually make sweet pancakes, but we also love the pancake cake filled with spinach. It's about the only way I actually like spinach-

I only eat pancakes as a savory meal, preferably with a salad. Now I'm craving some!

No writing, but there were crepes.

I have an external hard drive that I back up stuff onto. It was not cheap but it was a life saver when my computer crashed recently. It just plugs in, so is very easy to use. I just copy and paste the folders onto it.

I use the old, geriatric laptop and a data stick for that — unless, of course, I forget it.

Over here, pancakes are more often eaten as a dessert. And I love them sweet, myself (the filling, not the pancakes themselves, of course).

I love thin pancakes done like that. Although, to be honest, I like them done most ways!

Yes, I think it is more a German thing to make them a savory meal. Though sometimes I do like them with maple syrup!

Another thing I love very much is Fritatensuppe — soup with thinly sliced pancakes in it.

Oh yes! We call that "Flädlesuppe" here, it really is good.

Sounds like something people in the Schwabenländle would say... *g* I once spent a couple of months with a lady friend in Weißenhorn, near to Neu-Ulm and had to learn a completely different German than the one I had been speaking for decades. ;))

You should hear our dialect here in the deep rural Pfalz. Even native German speakers from other regions need a translator. LOL!

I like both, savory and sweet, but don't know how to make crepes, so don't have them often.

The recipe is fairly easy, I can ask Mum for it if you want it.

Well, I asked, and she explained me something about 18 tablespoons of flour, one egg, sugar, salt and milk. But I'll try to hunt down the exact amounts for you tomorrow because what we understand under tablespoon isn't necessarily the same as American measuring spoons. *g* But I'm sure we have the recipe written down somewhere. Mum very much makes it ad hoc.

Lol, that is like my grandmother who told me to "take 10 cents worth of ground meat ..." 10 cents today might buy a teaspoon of ground meat. Seriously, no hurry on the recipe and, thanks!
