Today I went to various supermarkets and spent an indecent amount of money on baking ingredients. I got everything I was looking for, except pistachios. I still have a small amount in the freezer, but that won't be enough. I can only hope that I find some specialized shop that sells them. The roast, salted version is everywhere, but those aren't good for sweet cookies. Aldi had them last year for a very short time, but I can't be sure they'll have them this year again.

Anyway, I went to six different places today, including the post office and the pharmacy, so I came home quite exhausted. Fortunately, we had leftovers from yesterday, so I didn't have to cook and took a nice, long nap after lunch. I felt too lazy to do anything productive, save for sorting out the things I bought (including craft supplies), so I decided to take it easy for the rest of the day.

But I did talk to my friend Evie on the phone, and - if nothing unexpected happens - she'll come over on Wednesday. With the biggest tin box she can find in her house, so that I can box her share of the cookies right after baking. ;)

I took a nap after lunch as well but it's back to work tomorrow, so no more naps.

Too bad! It's nothing like napping in the early afternoon in a sunlit room.

What pistachios do you cook with?

I looked up pistachios on amazon. I dont know if the shipping costs would be too much but it's worth a try.

Oh wait... searched "raw" my bad. Even so, try Amazon.

Lol. I love Evie's optimism in that box size. Do you use Amazon at all? You may find your pistachios there.

No, I am totally incapable of online shopping, I am afraid. I think I am a hobbit: I need to go to the market in person and need to see (and touch) things before I would buy them.

Raw, chopped or grated ones, depending on whether it goes into the dough or serves as decoration. Well, if I don't find any, I'll have to spread the ones left from last year thinly. *sigh*

Aldi Sued already sells unsalted pistachios, so it won't be long until we get them, too!

Huh. I don't know that I've ever seen raw. Although I've never thought about it.

Shopping for things is exhausting and it really takes up most fo the day by the time stops are made. Sounds like your day was very productive though!
