More planning and plotting
Oct. 21st, 2021 06:02 pmMum and I went to the Lidl supermarket today. I've developed a cunning plan to make mass shopping easier: we go both, fill the biggest cart there is, push the card to the entrance of our building (it isn't such a long way, at least when I'm alone, but doable even with Mum hanging onto it), take out everything from the cart, leave Mum to keep an eye on the booty, take the cart back to the supermarket, and then haul the bags and six-packs of mineral water and whatnot one by one to the lift.
So, we did that today. We were even lucky enough to meet two nice young men at the entrance who hauled the six-packs up the 12 steps to the lift for me. We're definitely going to do this again!
As for the planning: I've counted together how much flour, sugar, etc. I'll need for the Christmas baking orgy. Then I made another list of the smaller yet more price-y ingredients, to see what leftovers I still have from last year in the freezer. It turns out I won't have to buy almonds. Or walnuts. Or pecan nuts. Or pistachios. And only small amounts of hazelnuts or coconut flakes. So that part is good. I won't speak about flour, margarine, sugar and eggs just yet...
Other than that, I worked a bit on my timeline for "Pathways", managed to reach the water company to report in the monthly water consuming of the family (we do this every month) and talked to my friend Evie on the phone. All in all, a successful day.
