Something crafty this way comes
Oct. 5th, 2021 07:58 pmMy finished Kirschkernkissen:

The fabric is a special Hungarian brand called "Kékfestő", which could be roughly translated as "blue dye". There are workshops where the fabric is still hand-made; a couple of years ago we visited the one in Tolna and I was deeply impressed. You can see a selection of their patterns here, as well as a short introduction to the workshop itself.
I seriously doubt that my little piece of fabric is hand-made, though, since I bought it in the Auchan supermarket as part of a mask-making kit. *g*
Other than that, it was a fairly quiet day, much needed after yesterday. We ate leftovers, had a visit from the physiotherapist, I made a food run on my way to choir practice and got some flat cardboard boxes from school for my popsickle products. In fact, those were the lids of the boxes in which printer paper comes in large quantities, but very good for the purpose.
My friend Evie has fallen ill. I'm getting anxious about my birthday party.

Date: 2021-10-06 02:31 am (UTC)Sorry, I have not commented in a while. We've had a lot of cleanup work from the hurricane and had other chores to complete as my husband needed major surgery and will have a lengthy recovery period. The surgery went well. He is now relegated to his recliner for the next 3 weeks with me in charge of his care. He will start therapy after that and it will be even longer before he is able to go back to work. Then yesterday, my aunt died. The last relative I had of the older generation. Now, it is just my cousins and I left, and of them, I am the oldest. Kind of depressing, but life goes on. Hope all is well. I should be more active in the future.
