One is never too old to try out new things, right? Especially as it's currently too hot for traditional baking. So I gave the cheesecake without baking a try, and out came this:

I'd like to tell you that it is so yummy half of it is already gone. To our defence, it's a fairly small cake, only 20cm in diameter. And we didn't have anything else for lunch. Just coffee. *g*

On less delightful news, my cousin is having surgery tomorrow. He's had ventral hernia for quite some time, but because of Covid-related shortenings they couldn't do it before. He's very relieved to finally get it fixed; being a very active person, he was fed up with the fact that he couldn't work the way he was used to.

Good luck for your cousin´s surgery. I wanted to the the same kind of cheesecake. Bought the ingredients for the ´cheese´, but DiL found it in the fridge and ate most of it...:( This I interpreted as an order from above...good for me!

I'm happy to hear that some ops are now happening. We had long waiting lists here, pre covid. Now they're terrible.

Have you bought Cremequark for the cheesecake? That's what I always use.

We are glad, too. It was overdue, but they kept delaying it because of the Covid situation.

It isn't easy over here, either. Unless you go to a private clinic where you'll have to sacrifice your lifelong savings for the simplest things.

I grew up with non-bake cheesecakes and was truly surprised as an adult when I found out that some cheesecakes are actually baked. Stunning news to adult me in my then-30s. I still prefer the non-baked ones, to be honest.

The cheesecake looks scrumptious! One of my favorite desserts. Hope your cousin's surgery goes well.
