Recurring rain since about 3am, with lightning, thunder and medium-sized balcony leakage. Oh, joy. Fortunately, I managed to make my food run(s) in the about 1.5 hours when it wasn't raining. Well, almost. I only get caught on my way home from the second round. At least it isn't so hot now.

My friend Evie and I talked on the phone as always after a rainy day. We call it "discussing the flood situation". We have a leaking balcony, she has a flooded cellar. Misery loves company.

Still, it could have been a lot worse, so I'm counting my blessings.

Rainy days are depressing and we had enough of it here in Belgium :-( I hope the sun will come back soon!

I hope your leaky balcony doesn't leak inside your house! And you shopped! Hooray for achieving.

I'm glad you are safe. That weather system over the continent sounds like something from the apocalypse.

Good that you have found someone to share misery. Here we had some neighbours who shared our fate. And fate can be cruel. A neighbour´s cellar had never been flooded until this time- by his own brandnew pool. Oh dear, that thing got installed and filled the day before the big rain!

Comparef with the countries on our western side we have been lucky. The Alps have protected us to a certain degree.

OTOH a lot of countries have it much worse, so I'm trying to hold back with the whining.

Fortunately, it hasn't, so far. But it is a closed balcony, and the basic idea would be for the water to stay outside.

TBH, a middle position between desert heat and tropical jungle would be nice. You know, the thing we used to know as "summer" in my youth.

We had short showers afterwards, but those were bearable.

We finally got a day of sunshine! Nothing worse than thunder and lightning in the middle of the night, and then waking up to a balcony leak. I feel for you. Hope that chance of the leak being fixed comes true for you guys.
