Hot and uneventful days

Not much is happening in these days, which is a good thing right now, when it's so very hot over here. I had to go out today, and I couldn't even go very early as neither the pharmacy nor the post office would open before 9am. Consequently, I got home half past 11 and was practically smoking through the ears. *g*

Fortunately, I didn't have to cook much today. We had leftover soup and leftover salad, and I brought home Wiener Würstchen, so that was our lunch, with Butterbrot.

When I was out already, I stocked up with various kinds of glue, for the upcoming popsickle project. Now I'm armed for the glittering and other stuff.

BTW, although, as already mentioned, I'm not a big fan of the football (which means soccer in our country), but the games yesterday were fantastic. The way the Swiss team brought theirs back from an impossible position was amazing. I won't be watching the England-Germany game live, though. My nerves won't be able to bear it. I'll watch the re-run tomorrow, when I already know how it ended. Yeah, I know it's the coward's way out, but it's too hot for a heart attack!

I turned off the TV at 10.30 last night as I though the France — Switzerland game was decided ... oh well ...

Switzerland-France was fantastic! I heard the other game earlier that day was just as heartstopping, but i was busy still at that time. Must have missed quite a show there, too.

And ugh, my sympathies. I had to do heavy grocery shopping by foot today since our storage (usually very well-filled ever since Covid hit) had been sadly depleted and it was such an ordeal. It's not even hot here today but extremely muggy. I came home soaked both from rain and sweat.

I went to bed five minutes before the game should have ended. Then I pondered for about half an hour why hubby wasn't up yet. A look at my mobile confirmed that there had been extra-time and penalty shootout, and that Switzerland had won. I was miffed, because I had missed most of the fun...

Oh, poor you! My sympathies! At least I didn't have to lift too heavy a package.

As for the Spain-Croatia game, it was fantastic as well indeed. And it, too, turned out the way I had hoped for, so it was great fun.

I have definitely noticed a trend in the amount of heat-related posts. I'm grateful that winter is half over. I'm not keen of being super hot, but I'm not fond of being cold either. Hopefully some cooler days ahead for you.

Well, at least you guys won! My team (meaning the Germans) lost; not that they didn't deserve it, they weren't very good during the whole tournament, but I was still disappointed.

Frankly, from the two evils I prefer the cold. At least one can do something against cold: like heating or putting on another layer of clothes. The heat is making me all apathic and useless.

I have to admit I find it easier to watch the football if I am fairly neutral about the outcome — the Swiss match was really good.

I guess there's only so many layers of clothes to remove before one isn't welcome at work, although we in Queensland, do spend a lot of time under fans or in air-conditioning.
