But mad dogs and Englishmen aren't the only ones to go out in the midday sun. Well, perhaps not directly "midday", as I was at home again at half past then, but it was brutally hot already. Unfortunately, I needed a new monthly ticket, as the current one runs out today, so there was no real choice. A good thing that I'll reach official hag age in October and will be able to use all buses and trams and trains for free - assuming I'll be still alive.

Consequently, no crafting was done today - I decided to do that in the morning hours when I can still have the window open - but at least I took a photo from yesterday's finished page.

Here is Page 25, with the flat open, so that the hidden recipes can be seen:

Other than that, we're in survival mode. All blinds are let down around 10am, all windows are closed, and we move around as little as possible. The physiotherapist opted not to take Mum out to the street in this weather (not that I'd have let to), so they gave the inside stairs a try. Thank God, Mum is getting stronger, slowly but steadily.

There isn't much you can do when your brains are boiling. I lowered myself so much that I actually watched football with Mum, since that doesn't require any higher brain activities. Plus, I can alert Mum when something good is being replayed, since she usually misses those moments at the first time. *g*

I hope you'll get some cooler weather soon as well ...
It's cooled down considerably here since the weekend, only 25° today. But still muggy ...

Can you send me a few slices of your hot weather, please? I would not mind to have 30 degrees at all, alas, it has cooled down and we have rain at the very moment.

25°C would be lovely — if it didn't come with the damp. *g*

30 degrees is 3 degrees above my comfort zone. But I can do without the rain.

Ugh, hot weather is the worst. I would rather have winter twice over than have to endure summer. My thoughts are with you as I’m rubbing my hands together for warmth.

Old hag age? lol That's nice that they do that, at least.

The weather here is beautiful, with blue skies and temperatures that allow light sleeves.

True; at least one can do something against the cold.

Well, I guess they've saved a lot of money now that almost 30.000 people — apparently mostly old and sick ones — have died from Covid. [/sarcasm]

Exactly my kind of weather; alas, we didn't have any of that this year.

Hope the weather improves! I like it hot, but then I have air conditioning, so it's not hot indoors.

I'm hearing a lot right now about the heat, and it's funny because over this part of the world, our houses are designed with the heat in mind. The old Queenslander houses are next to impossible to heat in winter because they're full of windows, even above the doorways, verandahs, and a breezeway right through the house. I really feel for you having to close blinds and stay inside to keep cool.

Meanwhile, it's cold here. Not Canada cold, but cold for us.

I never liked hot weather. Not even when I was young.
