Well, into my strawberry-and-cream sponge cake, of course!



This time I used Grandma's time-honoured recipe and the sponge rose so much that it turned out too thick to roll up properly. So I cut it into two halves vertically, then both pieces cut horizontally, so that I got four layers, filled it with the strawberry jam (it ate the entire jar, the gluttonous cake!) and whipped cream that I "seasoned" with a shot of eggnog, and this is the result. I know it looks a bit dishevelled, but it tastes heavenly.

So, no more sponge experiments! Grandma knows best!
