Mum had her first jab today. The private ambulance arrived right on time and we were in and out of the hospital within 65 minutes. So far no side effects; let's hope it stays this way.*fingers crossed*

The physiotherapist was here in the afternoon; she and Mum had another successful session. We're trying to make small, careful steps forward, but we are making progress nonetheless. It's better if she uses the walking aid a year longer if needs must be, instead of overdoing things and having another accident.

Other than that, not much else happened. We are both very tired from yesterday and from today, so we decided to be lazy. I half-finished the "blooming eggs" card and typed up some of the recently written stuff, but that was all. Didn't even need to cook more than a canned soup. Yay for laziness!

Did she also get the Russian vaccine?

Yes. Since it worked well enough for me, we hope she won't have any bigger problems, either. Same family and all. ;)

Yay for any and all forward progress!

You deserved some relaxation after all that.

That's great for your mum! I am crossing my fingers for her as well.
My parents and sister had their first vaccination on Friday and while my parents were well, my sister suffered nausea, chills and extreme tiredness. I would've thought that younger people would be less likely to get bad side effects...oh well. At least it was gone again pretty quickly.

Yay for progress on the physio therapy too. I completely agree with making small steps.

Hooray for taking some time to be lazy! You and Mum sure deserve it. I'm glad today's transport went according to plan. Fingers crossed your mum has no bad side effects from the vaccination. I'm just so happy both of you are vaccinated now!

Slow and steady progress will do. Even if Mum feels energetic and strong, take caution not to overdo it. I know you won't. I say it because I have two friends who repeatedly re-injured themselves — one after a hip replacement, the other after a knee replacement. Both turned their recovery into a nightmare and additional surgeries to repair the damage they did to themselves by not following the doctor's and therapist's orders.

We've decided to take easy tomorrow as well. We need to recover a bit after the recent days.

I've heard repeatedly that young people reacted worse to the Pfizer vaccine than old ones, which sounds odd indeed. We both got Sputnik, though, so we'll have to wait and see how Mum takes it.

Fortunately, Mum is a reasonable person. We both know that at the age of almost 90 one has to be cautious and couldn't expect miracles. Although I see it as a miracle that she's already recovered this much.

I must admit that I actually have no idea which one my parents and sister got *blushes*
Gotta ask them.
