Another step forward
Mar. 3rd, 2021 07:12 pmThe new mattress arrived today, and it's every bit as good as we hoped when selecting it. Considering that we chose it from an online offer, not having a clue what the description actually meant, we've been lucky. *g*
My cousin fetched it for us and - since it was a single 200cm by 100cm by 7cm piece, he cut it in half for us... with an oversized kitchen knife, in the anteroom! *g* We then put the two pieces atop each other, covered them with an elastic sheet that will keep them together (and that, accidentally, has almost the same colour as the actual sofa Mum uses as a bed) and it looks great that way. When Mum won't need the bed to be ready for lying down all day anymore, it will still look good - just as it used to before, only 14 cm higher. We can live with that.
Mum says it is very comfortable, and she could get up from the bed without help and without the walking frame for the first time to prove it. I hope sleeping on it will be comfortable, too, but for the exercises she needs to make on a daily basis it's definitely a godsend.
Considering that I had to cook today, make a food run and order the eggsies at school, it isn't surprising that the creative activities were very low. I've finished the bunny's ears and nose and stitched half an egg - but that's all. I hope I'll be able to finish the card tomorrow, though, as the only housework I'll have to do promises to be baking a cheesecake and doing the washing up. *fingers crossed*
