We've accomplished a lot today
Feb. 20th, 2021 07:45 pmThe private ambulance came at 7.20 - only five minutes late - so we got to the hospital on time. Mum got her stitches removed (she said she counted under twelve, but there might have been two more, so it's a really long cut) and the surgeon declared the OP wound 'practically healed'. There is no inflammation, no irritation, everything is as it ought to be. He sent Mum to another x-ray, just to be on the safe side, but since he hasn't contacted us again, it ought to be everything OK there, too. *wipes perspiration of relief from forehead*
We'll have to call the surgeon in 3 weeks time again, to make an appointment for another control, but so far things seem to be developing 'under normal parameters', as Data (and the Vulcans) would say. Now it's slow, patient work on walking and learning to eat properly again. Her cold shivers might have come from the stomach as well, not just from the nerves.
I had two very short naps around midday before cooking lunch because I was exhausted, too. They lasted about 15-20 minutes, each, but they did me a wealth of good. Then I made Topfenknödel for lunch, which was yummy.
In the afternoon I actually came around to finish seaming that never-ending quiet book page and started on the back cover of the book. It's simply a pocket with a zipper, inspired by this video:
Only that I made the whole thing from hard felt and thus dumbed down the design very much. I don't believe in unnecessarily complicating my life. :)
