I've promised pics of the children's storybook I'm working on, haven't I? Now I've come far enough to finish the first couple of pages, so here it goes.

The front cover:

Quite simple, just some craft paper and a small title tag. The pattern is quite colourful, so I didn't want to overdo it.

The inside of the front cover and the first page:

Pages 2 and 3:

Pages 4 and 5:

As a rule, I don't use such loud colours. But this entire book was inspired by the rather trashy foam stickers, so I decided to go with the style. I'm sure the children who get the book in the end won't mind.

Other than that, I had two very short phone conversations with two ex-colleagues and watched some crap telly. No GBBO tonight, so I might give the film on Sat1 a try. It has Eva Green and Asa Butterfield in the main roles; we'll see what it is like.

Peculiar Children is an okay film but I'm not sure if it's understandable without having read the book.

True, it was fairly confusing. I held out for about 45 minutes, then gave up and went to see Nadiya Hussain's programme on tv-paprika. Looked up the film on Wikipedia afterwards, to know what the whole thing is actually about.

I don't know why, but whenever either Sat1 or Pro7 are showing actual films, instead of series or reports or whatnot, the sound is always horrible. That has more or less put me off watching films there. It's always a shock when the ad break comes and the ads are ten times as loud as the film.

I've had those eye stickers for years and could never use them because they were fairly big. Now, however.... *g*

The cover has a great pattern.
Also, those bright colors are fun. :)

The cover pattern has similarities to Hungarian folk art motifs, which I thought would fit a folk song for children. :)

The book looks as if it will bring such pleasure to a little one - the colours are just right to go with the stickers :)

Yes, I didn't really have a choice with the colours this time. The stickers demanded something... err... colourful. ;)

I especially love the page with the polka dot trees and oh so cute chicken, but the others are also super cute.

The polka dot trees were a last-minute idea. I made them with the help of a motif puncher for flowers! *g*
