Three days left till Christmas - which over hear means Christmas Eve, predominantly. The artificial blasphemy is nearly completely decorated, only the garlands are going up tomorrow, and I put up transparent stars - self-made ones, naturally - on the windows. The Christmas baking is done, the frantic card-making over, the Christmas cooking is going to be a quiet affair, so I'll just lean back and relax, right?

Wrong! Right on schedule I've found a new craft project that will take a great deal of time and effort to finish. I'm making a busy book - not a felt one but a paper one, based on a children's song. It's something similar to Old McDonald's farm, only that the kid is going to the market, buying various animals and the sounds of those animals are simulated.

From the various songs performed in the video, the first one is the one I'm going to use. I basically knew what I wanted to do before finding the video, but I got a great deal of inspiration from the background. I find the striped tents particularly lovely.

Other than that, not much happened. I finished the mask I've been sewing for weeks by now (with several fortnight-long breaks in-between), we ate leftovers for lunch and I went through my craft paper storage to find the right ones for the new project. Then we talked to Little Emma's mum (my goddaughter) and grandma (my cousin's wife), and that was basically it.

My Good Thing of the day:
Learning that [livejournal.com profile] red_day_dawning also got my Christmas card. Now only [livejournal.com profile] meathiel and [livejournal.com profile] adafrog are left. And yes, I actually sent out 14 Christmas cards, not 13. There's a reason why I didn't become a maths teacher. *g*

True. It's still odd that the ones sent to the overseas have already arrived and yours haven't yet. grrrr!

Definitely! It is a good thing that at least I already have the animals as foam stickers... that gave me the idea in the first place.

Why am I not surprised you have a new project, lol. Nice that you have so many little ones in your family that can enjoy the books.

I don't know about mainland Europe, but post in the UK is being disrupted by various problems linked to the virus. There's still time for your cards to arrive.

Honestly, this project doesn't have a potential recipient yet. I believe, though, that it will go to Elise's eldest granddaughter who'll start school in a year's time. Within the family German things are more welcome than Hungarian ones.

I hope so. I thought I'd mailed them early enough.
