Advent, Day 18
Dec. 18th, 2020 06:34 pmI had a very busy day. First I went to school to drop off Elise's cookie box - unfortunately, I haven't managed to actually meet her; instead, I met a whole bunch of the other girls... masked and from a proper distance, of course. Gosh, how I hate that part! But at least we could wave at each other.
Then I went to the nature shop and brought stuff to treat the fairly ruined skin on my face. The harsh sunlight in the years when I had to stand around on the school yard and keep the kiddies from killing each other didn't have a good effect on my skin. However, argan oil helps a bit with the Moon surface effect.
Then I went to buy my next monthly ticket for public transportation. From there I went to the post office to fetch my parcel. The queue stood till the end of the street. It took me 35 minutes to get into the actual office. The ad on their door said: Parcel Point - get your parcel quickly and easily. Yeah, sure...
Then I went to the only one of the groceries where you can buy meat - and I mean real meat, not the pre-packaged sort. I bought chicken wings and chicken joints (is that what their upper leg is called?) as well as a great lot of other things that were bloody heavy, like potatoes and stuff.
Then I came home and we had breakfast... at 11:30am! Mum was already dressed up for a walk outside, so we went to the Lidl at the next corner to finish our shopping. It was half past three when we finally got home, so we skipped lunch in favour for coffee and some ham pastries. I was truly drained by then.
After some dozing off in front of the telly, though, I realized that I needed to process some of the meat we bought, so I did that. And then the day was almost over, save for two lovely phone chats with Sandy and Elise.
My Good Thing of the day:
Meeting my girls. It beats everything, every single time.
