I had the last episode of my anti-Covid baking frenzy today.

I made chestnut sticks, Karlsbader Krapferln, (sorry, no idea how to translate that into English), lemony Christmas biscuits and walnut-rum flavoured financiers with candied citrus peel, to use up the leftover egg whites from the first three.

Mum sampled all and approved of the results. I've also put up some ornaments onto the blasphemous artificial tree, but other than that, I was pretty much drained for the rest of the day. I enjoyed my anti-Covid baking frenzy a great deal, but enough is enough.

My Good Thing of the day:

I got a mysterious parcel from somewhere. Since our postal service refuses to deliver any parcels, I'll have to go to the post office tomorrow and see what it is and from whom. Usually I'd be angry about this, but since it enables me to drop off Elise's cookie box on my way, I'm more forgiving about the whole thing.

Das ist ein österreichisches Backbuch oder? Das Deutsch ist nämlich ... lustig ... :-)

Unexpected parcels are fun, but not when you have to go and collect. At least our delivery service comes to the door.

Well, an artificial tree is a blasphemy... even though sometimes an inevitable one. *sigh*

Especially as I had to stand in the queue for 35 minutes - outside the post office, with no social distancing whatsoever...

I used to feel like that. Now I've been inured to them. :/

Yeah, we get used to a lot of things out of sheer necessity. It still doesn't make me happy, though.

Wow, after that huge list you are still baking, lol. Glad you finally reached your limit.

The last three were just an afterthought. I usually stop at 8-10 different sorts.

Wow. Do they not deliver packages all of the time or just because of covid?
