Advent, Day 15
Dec. 15th, 2020 05:14 pmFirst things first: Yesterday's cookies

In other news: Mum and I finally gave in to life's sad necessities and purchased an artificial Christmas tree. It isn't exactly bad looking (although dragging it home was a bit of a strain for my back), but it is, well... artificial. When I passed by the pine tree vendors afterwards, my heart was bleeding, but the sad truth is that it is too much of a bother to take a real tree down when Christmas is over. My hands always look as if they'd been served as pine cushions for days, and we're still picking the needles out of the wall-to-wall carpet around Easter.
I might buy a couple of small pine branches and put them into a vase yet, if only for the scent... and the illusion. *sigh*
I was out of the house all morning, hauling stuff around - it's Tuesday, after all, which means shopping day, and of course you never get all the stuff you need in the same shop. Needless to day that I was pretty much useless for the rest of the day. Old age is not for the week of heart.
My Good Things of the day:
- having managed to put the dratted artificial tree together in a more or less aesthetic manner;
- having received a lovely Christmas card from
aeris444. Thank you, my dear, and I hope mine will arrive at you, soon.
