Which is a relief. I've made 24 little boxes for the Advent calendar book, the tutorial to which I shared yesterday.

They aren't as neat and geometrically perfect as in the tutorial, but they'll do, and I'm so happy to be done with them. I tried making a template and drawing around it, but the results were not satisfying. So after the first three boxes I returned to measure out every.single.one.by hand. It was a nightmare, but luckily, it's over now.

Next week I'll make the book itself, which is the easy part as I've made numerous journal covering the same way. Then I'll have to decide which friend of mine is getting the thing as a gift.

The boxes basically ate my day. After a late lunch I called an ex-colleague who's having her name day. I haven heard from her for a while, so learning that she and her family are all right was good.

Then Mum and I watched Das Große Backen (the German version of the GBBO), which ate the evening, so the day was basically over. I've just typed up the first three pages of Chapter 11 of SD5; hopefully, tomorrow I'll get something written, for a change.

My day went away from me as well. Sundays always pass so fast.

Your Advent boxes sound really good.

I am busy finding small gifts to go in the fabric one I made many years ago. These days D-d and her family share it.

I've just re-watched the video and realized that I accidentally made a change in the design. But since all I had was really soft card stock mine wouldn't have worked with the original one, so it's good.

For me, all days go away so soon. It's hard to imagine that on December 6 I'll be retired for two years!

I have a special board for making boxes, but as every card is a slightly different thickness, they still don't always come out the same size, so I had similar difficulties with my advent calendar. I feel your frustration.

I've had a few projects like that as of late, too. At least they are done.

It was. I don't know why I always jump headfirst into such projects.

Still, a special board must be nice.

Thank God I'm almost done, too. The book cover is the easy part. Of course, sometimes the easy parts are those we mess up spectacularly...

I went to the supermarkets today and because tomorrow is a holiday. They were packed with people and the lines at the checkout were super long. It was a bit scary. Two stores only 5 minutes away and it took me half a day to finish. Now, all I want is a nap. I cannot imagine making 24 boxes at the moment, just the thought wears me out, lol. However, I am sure your advent book will turn out the best.

The supermarkets are always a nightmare before the holidays. As if people would be afraid of starving if the grocery shops aren't open for one single day. *headdesk*
