Not that I'd have done any actual writing today, mind you. But I did something equally important: I sorted out plot elements.
You see, I've got these two Star Trek: Enterprise/Torchwood/Whoniverse stories.
A Matter of Time is your regular, run-of-the-mill crossover, with Ianto being saved by the 9th Doctor after the trainwreck otherwise know as Torchwood's Series 3 and travelling forward to the 22th century to help Archer & Co to fulfil their mission. In this story, Jonathan Archer is the great-great-great and another few times great-grandson of Jack Harkness (from his marriage back in Victorian times or so; we get to see the wedding photo at the end of the episode "Something Borrowed", so it's canon), and I've consequently recast him, so he's played by John Barrowman in this story, for the sake of sheer charisma. Hoshi Sato, Malcolm Reed and Crewman Elizabeth Cutler are the descendants of Tosh's brother, one of Owen's cousins and Gwen, respectively. And then there's Ensign Sandra Massaro in Engineering, who's actually Suzie's clone. The other characters are the same as in the series.
Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage, on the other hand, is something that is called, I think, a fusion. Meaning that it is a genuine "Enterprise" story, but there are a few Whoniverse characters added, just for the fun of it. Like, Rhys is galley chef, Gwen is a maintenance crewman, Ianto is the quartermaster, and so on. Captain Archer is played by John Barrowman again, for charisma.
So, I went through the episode list of "Enterprise" today, to see which episodes use for the continuation of which story. "A Matter of Time" is the first part of a series and is finished at 15 chapters. "Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage" is far from being finished, and currently 20 chapters are posted. As I don't want to use the same content twice, I needed to sort out the canon episodes and decide which goes into which story. Not that my versions would be very canonical. *g*
In any case, this took me half the day. I then sorted out some craft paper supplies, glued together some more matchbox gift boxes and cooked lunch. All in all, I'm proud of my achievements, even though I no longer managed to transcribe some of the written stuff. Tomorrow is another day, after all.
