I baked waffles today, mostly to use up some of the yeast I've accumulated at the beginning of the lockdown. I froze it, and when I took it out of he freezer it became oddly soft (like bananas when you put them into the freezer), but was absolutely okay and could be used without problems. Here are the results:

I also finished my friend Enie's 50th birthday book. The pictures aren't very good because the shapes of the individual parts are so different that it was hard to get them onto one picture without too much ugly background.

This is the front cover, without the number 50, which I draw under the picture later. The card on the right says: "You're not aging, you're MARINATING - and getting BETTER from year to year."

The inside of the cover. The narrow card in the middle went onto the right side, eventually, and it's actually a three-page booklet with funny texts.

Okay, this is a bit more complicated. On top the accordeon card, which went to the left side of the inner cover, eventually. The texts say, from left to right:

"You're not 50. You're 18 - with 32 years of experience."
"I know exactly how old you've turned. But I can be silent."
"Up to the next 50 years!"
"Best wishes!"

Now, on the bottom left you see the flap that will go to the right side of the cover, too, and the narrow cards would be hidden under it. The half-visible text says: "You're not alt, you are VINTAGE!"

Next to it is one of the narrow cards that says: "Your life is just about to start!"

And this is the other side of the accordeon card. The first panel on the left is supposed to be on top and it says: "The Golden Age". The next one has no text. The third one says: "You are not 50. You are 42 plus taxes." And the fourth one simply says: "Best wishes".

On the bottom left another narrow card says: "Congratulations! You've just turned 25 - again!" On the bottom right you can see the back of the flap with the "vintage" text.

I know it's a bit hard to imagine how the finished book put together looks like. It it helps, it was made after this basic design:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ZtKiOVSho&list=PLcIAcB4CX-eHJmn2yhhs9PNWbvDC23fXW&index=5&t=0s

I changed some of the embellishments as I don't like making waterfall cards, but basically it is the same book.

It is delicious. And also extremely caloric. *g*

How are you doing, by the way? Haven't heard from you for a long time. I hope life is treating you well.

I'm good. My health is a bit up and down, but that's usual for me. Loving seeing all these uses for cherries!

Waffles and cherries looks delicious! I got a kick out of the sayings in the 50 (to be) book. The best IMO is "... You've just turned 25 - again!" I think I will adopt that one.

They are funny texts, aren't they? I found them on a German website. Feel free to use any of them if you want.

It was quite yummy, too, just very filling. I had to gift a few of them on our neighbours, as they are only really good when fresh (preferably still warm) and we couldn't have eaten them all. Next time I'll only make half a portion.
