Or at least till late August. When the batch I've picked up at school runs out, we'll just have to buy them in the supermarket like everyone else. But since currently we've got 38 of them in the fridge, they'll last for a while. It appears that I baked less than usual in the recent weeks.

Anyway, today was the day of multiple food runs, as my days as a pack animal seem to be over. I squeezed in a little bit of crafting, namely cutting all the page bases for Baby Book#3 to the right size (more or less). I also typed up the few scenes of "Magic Mirror" I wrote yesterday. The story is picking up speed again, although this is another ungodly long one, so finishing it might take a few [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo sessions yet. I'm trying to use the momentum while I seem "to be on the roll", as Chief O'Brien from Star Trek would put it.

I met several people at school today; none of my personal friends, though, as regular teaching still happens online. For another week or so. One of my girls called today, though, and it can be that she'll drop by tomorrow. I mean, we've already let in the janitor, the chiropodist and the cleaning lady, and she's self-isolating to even more extent than we do, so we thought we'd risk it. The idea is to exile Mum to the living room while we're having a chat in mine - it's 3.5 metres long, so we'll be able to keep the proper distance.

I'm still undecided about wearing a mask during the whole visit, but I'll definitely put on the self-made one with the pixies and fairies and mice, so that she'll have something to laugh.

Thanks. I hope I won't run out of steam by the time [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo begins.

It is. We usually buy 20 or 30 for a month - they are so fresh that they easily keep 5-6 weeks long in the fridge. It's rare for them to be there so long, though, but somehow we didn't cook (or bake) things during last month that would have required lots of eggs. But tomorrow there'll be cheesecake, so I can use up some of them.

We go out weekly but haven't dared have anyone over for a visit. Would you consider keeping your mask on and somehow asking your guest to do the same?

That's a lot of eggs for 2 people.
We usually go through approx. 10 per week - and that includes baking. Of course it depends on what I bake. ;-)

I hope not either. I'm guessing we are a go for July?

I think so, yes. Several people have signalled their readiness to participate, so I am all for it.

Same here. We only have so many right now because we didn't use up last month's contingent.

As I said, we already had people in here; at least with a friend you can keep proper distance.

Don't mind me. I'm just super careful because both Mom and Paul are in the high risk population. Paul because he suffers asthma and Mom because when all this began she was still undergoing radiation treatment. That carries over into me worrying about everyone else I know.

You are amazing, so many activities going on! Isn't it wonderful to be spending time with friends, despite the necessities of distancing and masks?
We had a visit outdoors a week ago with a couple we are best friends with, and it was wonderful. Tomorrow morning I am visiting two friends from school, another outdoor meet. Thank goodness for the nice weather.

Congratulations on all you are accomplishing with the next baby book and the writing! How fantastic to be on a roll!

I'm looking forward to a quiet week away from home, and continue to work on some unfinished stories.
I will need pico to keep the momentum.

Oh, I do understand that! Fortunately, Mum is healthy, save for her aching joints, but those hardly matter for the virus, or so I hope. She won't be in the same room with us anyway, and at least my friend Evie is very responsible on the matter of self-isolation, unlike some other people we had to let into the flat because we needed help.

I hope Evie will be able to come tomorrow. We'll be indoors, admittedly, but my room is 3.5 metres long and we'll have the window wide open, while Mum will be exiled into the living room, so I think we can minimalize the risk. Evie is very responsible re: self-isolation anyway.

As for the activities, I can't shake off the feeling that I'm on borrowed time, either due to my age or due to the current situation, so I'm trying to get done as much as I can.

How nice you can get fresh eggs. We go through them like crazy! As to masks, I wear them if greeting anyone, but then I am high risk.
