Today's achievements, culinary and literary ones
Let's start with the literary parts: I typed up the next couple of pages to Chapter 09 of Sparrows. Still have to rewrite parts of Chapter 06 before I can send it (and 7 and 8) to the generous person who unexpectedly declared readiness to beta it. Let's hope they won't get cold feet in the last moment, as it happened to various other people.
I also typed up some of my original fantasy, also known as the Grand Epos (TM). The ominous one that misses the middle 200 or so pages. By doing so, I realized that I haven't posted the already existing parts to
hiddenrealms, only to FictionPress. Not that anyone would be able to read it, seeing as it's written in Hungarian, but still. That's one mistake that I intend to correct.
And now to the more successful and productive part of the day. I've produced another four sorts of Christmas cookies - I'm up to seven sorts now.
My Schwarz-weiß gebäck, although it looks scheiße, meaning that it's light years away from being so pretty and regular as you can see on the pictures, tastes deliciouos.
Orangenherzen and Nougatkipferl turned out fairly well; the dratted nougat dough is always a horror to make, it keeps falling apart every other minute, but I conquered it again. Maronistangerln, actually an easy enough thing to make, played an evil trick on me - my dough was too soft, and so the things melted apart quite a bit while baking. But we'll eat them anyway. The ugly shape doesn't matter, compared with the delicious taste.
Oh, and one of my prezzies has apparently reached the Queen's country! Go, postal services! Now if only the others reach their destination on time...

All I did with my Saturday was curl up in bed, catch up on Vampire Diaries and an audio book (though that was more of a must than a want, it is only lent and I have to send it on early next week... and you know, it only *just* occured to me I could check if it is copy-protected to download the tracks I still have to listen to... *headdesks* I've been in that audio book circles for a year!)
Don't fret about how the Schwarz-Weiß-Gebäck looks! Mine always looks weird, too, and I've been baking it for years. It's the taste that matters anyway.

If you're done with your audio book, you can catch up with the big Tosh/Yoshitsune romance. *g* I know you've already read the basics, ahead of everyone else, but I think you'll find the full version interesting, too. Well, at least I hope you will.
Audio books, hmmm? I've got a couple of Star Trek ones, but I could never warm up to them, for some reason. Printed books, oh yeah, baby, and movies or episodic television, but to listen to someone else reading a book... so not my cup of tea. I always keep thinking how differently I'd read this or that particular paragraph... I think it has something to do with bein a teached. *g*

I have the Tosh/Yoshitsune romance on my to-read list. I was very tempted to read it last night, but I was so tired already, I figured I wouldn't be able to process it.
Yes, I agree, it IS annoying when baked goods don't turn out the way you want them to. I'll have some of that now, too, as currently the cookie dough is being stirred in the kitchen.

Oh, I still need to do Zimtsterne, too. I love these. Next week, though, I have no ground almond.
