Advent 2023 - Day 9

Today I've baked the last six batches of Christmas biscuits. Now I'm up to 30, if I count the two different batches of financiers as different biscuits. And since the first batch was made with walnuts, chocolate drops and freeze-dried strawberries, while the second one with almonds and lemon zest, I can see them as different biscuits, right? That's my story and I stick to it, just because 30 is such a nice, round number!

I worked on them from 9.30am to 6pm, and afterwards I had to empty Louise (the washing machine) and hang up the washing, so I'm well and duly done in for the day. Tomorrow there will be cookie decorating, but then I'll be finished with the Christmas baking frenzy. It was great fun, but I'm glad it's over, too.

Telekom gifted 100 minutes of phone talking on the Domino card owners, so I'm calling random people from Mum's mobile phone, as you have to use up those 100 minutes within the next 4 days. Mum has called her lady friend, too, and we're halfway done by now. We can't allow the big phone company to keep their money, after all.

So, that was it for today. I'll watch a bit of telly - the Christmas Bake-Off is on tonight with two episodes in a row - and fall into bed, I think. ;)
