Russian dolls, 2nd batch

I've made surprisingly good progress today; I'm beginning to hope that I actually might finish the whole project during this week. The photos of this batch aren't as good as the previous ones - I should have put the dolls in front of a light-coloured background - but you can see what they are like nonetheless. Even if the pictures aren't exactly true.

In other news, we started choir practice with the main choir as well. Since the Russian-themed ball is less than a month away, it was Russian folk songs and choir pieces all along. It was very pleasant - I love Russian music very much.

I also translated more than two pages and hope to finish this chapter in a couple of days, too. So I'm fairly content with this day's accomplishments, even though I'm a bit tired.

Gosh, those came out great!

Thank you, I'm quite pleased with them myself. ;))
Made some more today; four more are left for tomorrow and then, hopefully, the whole project is finished (unless someone else makes big puppy eyes and asks for another one...) Which means, I can pick up the Easter projects again...

I last sang Russian in college, but I remember it was pretty and fun to sing.

I love both the music and the language - I had the latter as a mandatory subject in school but managed to forget what little I knew, unfortunately.

Neat. Yeah, I knew some Japanese, and could even read kindergarten level when I was in college, but nothing now. :/

Thank you. :)

The Russian dolls are darling--the colors are so bright and cheerful! And I sense a Russian theme to this entry: Russian dolls, and Russian music! I hope there's another news story so when can hear your choir singing those lovely Russian songs.

Our annual charity ball is Russian-themed this year, hence the whole project. I'm making these dolls for my choir fellows, some of them had a really hard time with the Russian lyrics, as the younger generation was no longer taught the Cyrillic alphabet, unlike us, old hags.

I, too, hope there will be a record of our little gig, so that I'll be able to host it on YouTube and link it to my LJ, as I did with the Christmas concert.

Choir practice is usually a delight.

The doll cards are so lovely! I hope the folk who receive them appreciate how much work you've put into them.

Yeah, I hope it, too. It would be sad to see them in some waste paper basket afterwards.

The dolls are the perfect gift for the Russian music themed ball, they've turned out lovely!
