Pencil holder in purples

I wasn't really planning to make another one, but we had tomato soup at the beginning of the week and the can the peeled and chopped Italian tomatoes came in was so pretty that I didn't have the heart to throw it out. I'm recycling these cans in ungodly numbers, it seems.

Anyway, I thought it wood look well to try something in shades of purple. Well, save for the corrugated paper and the lace, that is, but too much purple would have been... errr too much?



Fortunately, I've got dozens of ex-colleagues whom I like a lot, so for a while I'll find a nice place for my pencil holders to go. *g*

Recycling would be ideal; unfortunately, it doesn't work very well over here. We used to have a fairly good system - then it was deleted because somebody's buddy wanted to take over the whole thing, and since then it's rather wonky, most of the time.

A nice colour, isn't it? It was on a bottle of shower gel, fixing it to a twin bottle of bathing salt; I got them from a colleague as a gift. Then, when I broke open the shower gel, I put the ribbon away because it was so pretty. And then I found these decorative little stones of almost the same hue and am very pleased with the results.

Actually, they are self-adhesive acrylic stones. At least I think they are acrylic stones, because they weren't all that expensive. Just like the ones in the next entry.
