Interesting. I liked Aragorn *before* the movies, but I hate him like the plague now. The same is true for Galadriel. And I'm very unhappy with movie!Elrond, too. And with Faramir.

The landscapes are indeed gorgeous, and most of the sets are beautiful, too. Even if I find Rivendell much too decadent, and I don't think the Wood-Elves of Lórien would truly build *staircases* around their beloved trees. I understand, though, that it would have looked silly, watching the butts of the whole Fellowship while they are trying to climb the ladders up to Galadriel and Celeborn's tree house.
