Not dead yet...

...although feel like that, more often than not. Which explains the acute lack of Christmas-related photos, like the tree and the cookies, although I did take some. I simply can't find the energy to upload and transfer them from laptop to main PC and stuff. Sorry. Still quite ill, I am.

I just wanted to warn you that - should I suddenly vanish from cyberspace in 12 days' time, that will - hopefully - not mean my sudden and violent passing. My Norton will run out in 12 days, and while the replacement has already been arranged, I'm not sure if the old processor will be able to handle it, or I'll need a new processor, too.

Yes, I know, there are other antivirus programmes, available online and stuff. But I don't dare to dabble with them. I have nobody to right things, should I totally mess them up, so I depend on professionals. *sighs*

*hugs* Hope you're feeling better soon! Also, good luck, I hope your new antivirus will work on the old processor. I wouldn't venture onto the internet without a known reliable antivirus programme either. I don't trust the ones you can download yourself. I pay each year and mine just updates automatically, usually several times a day. I feel safe knowing that I'm being constantly updated to repel, anything nasty. I wish there was an antivirus programme for humans though, then you wouldn't be ill.

That would be handy, wouldn't it? ;))

Hope you soon feel better and your computer works with the new anti virus programme.

Thanks, Linda. :)

they predicted end of the world and horrible virus. we survived

We did, didn't we? Although when I got off the train on December 21, I seriously thought that a new, disastrous ice age has broken out in Hungary, as a means of the world's end.

I hope you feel better soon! Hopefully Norton's new Anti-virus will be compatible with your old processor.

I certainly hope so, although seeing how the latest version has slowed down my geriatric PC already, I expect bad, bad things. *sighs*

Ouch and double ouch! Fee; better soon - from all of the mishaps, burns and viruses!

Thanks, hun. Where have you been all this time? I missed you. And what's going on - or rather not going on over at Marcus/Neroon? It used to be such a nice, close-knit group, but it seems all regular players have abandoned it for quite some time. I understand that there's only so much Marcus/Neroon smut that can still catch interest, and that people move on to other fandoms, but I always thought there was more to that bunch of people than just the shared interest in Minbari private parts.

Of course, I was hardly more than the occasional lurker over there, so I might have missed something important.

Where have I been? Well, dealing with this thing called real life, a death in the family and that bastard called cancer - and yet ANOTHER surgery. I have had 5 major abdominal surgeries in 10 years. I have been living in a fog of meds and morphine. I am praying that I've finally beaten the bastard for good this time. As for what's up at the Marcus/Neroon group, well its a combination of - of course - real life, major obligations and silent muses. I hope something lets up soon and we all have some inspiration when it happens!

[identity profile] wiseheart.livejournal.com 2012-12-29 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about having needed surgery again! *hugs* Let's hope you've really beaten the sucker this time. You're one amazingly tough lady, you know that?

[identity profile] third-charm.livejournal.com 2012-12-30 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks so much, hon! And may the muses be kind to us all in the new year.

*hugs* Hope you feel better soon and good luck getting your computer sorted.

Also, your card arrived yesterday - thank you so much. It is really lovely.

[identity profile] wiseheart.livejournal.com 2012-12-28 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
The dratted thing arrived yesterday? I've posted it together with all the others, and even the Americans got theirs earlier!

*nods* The post system here is really broken - even first class letters can take over a week to get around within the country!

Thanks. I hope the guy from the neigbourhood will arrive with the new Norton, soon. I'd hate to rely on the coms at school, where we are 50 people for 2 PCs.

Take good care of yourself, Dear Friend: pics can wait.
I agree with your choice of Norton. It's a solid program, and for those of us who aren't techies, better to stay with things that don't require expertise to use properly.
