This is an old meme I apparently missed back in 2009 - but it's never too late, right?
List the first lines of your last twenty stories. See if you find any patterns.
Brownie points for those who can guess some of the more obscure fandoms - or the one original story among all the fanfic.
1. In all her life she had only visited Mithlond once before – which was not surprising, as her parents had dwelt deep in the inland for most of the last two Ages; first at Lake Evendim, ruling over the Green-Elves, then in the woods near Eregion, and finally in their last and most permanent dwelling, the Golden Wood.
2. He came to from that curious state of waking nightmares in which he had spent nearly all the time of his imprisonment to the feeling of excruciating pain.
3. Whenever Arthur Pendragon closes his eyes since that fateful encounter with the Questing Beast, all he ever dreams of are fire and darkness.
4. Lord Agravaine DuBois was an ambitious man, with a keen eye for power and position at court; had always been.
5. The realm that Arthur Pendragon, Crown Prince of Camelot, had to rule in his father's stead – while King Uther was slowly recovering from the time spent in his own dungeons during Morgana's reign – was in a shambles.

As for finding any pattern, well, it seems that while I write in literally dozens of fandoms - if one count crossovers separately - I write them in blocks: for a while in two or three main ones, than switching to other main ones and so on. Not that that would be new information, mind you. It's something I knew already.
