Merry Christmas!
Or happy Midwinter, or blessed Winter Solstice, or just happy holidays, whichever you happen to celebrate!
Celebrations at home:
We had a quiet Christmas Eve with Mum - just the two of us, the way we like it. Once upon a time we used to invite friends without a family (or with families they were better off without) to Christmas Eve, but they've either died in the meantime or drifted apart from us. So it was just the two of us last night.
We had Christmas dinner: Sauerbraten mit Semmelknödel and some leftover salad from the previous day, lit the candles on the Christmas tree (yes, real candles, even if they can only burn for minutes, for security reasons) and exchanged presents. I had some of the photos from our Swiss trip printed out for Mum, and she was very happy with them. I got from her "Soldiers Christi", a book about medieval knights' orders, like the Templars and the rest of them, and I was very happy with it, too.
I got prezzies from
the_wild_iris and
disthrainsdotte and a beautiful Christmas card from the lovely
jilba, which, too, made me very happy. Other than that, not much happened - aside from the joyous fact that I finally made some modest headway with the Epic Merlin Fic(TM). Only a page or so, but still...
Oh, and I discovered that my record player died on me, too. Considering how old it is, I seriously doubt that it can be fixed at all. And my setellite receiver is frizzing in and out of function. *sighs*
There is some picspam behind the tag if you're interested.

I'm happy you had a quiet, nice Christmas evening with your Mom. Ours was a quiet, small affair, too.
The tree is lovely as always, I'll make pics of mine later as well. I wanted to photograph it yesterday, but the batteries had died on me.

Holidays have been rather busy so far, but now I might actually get the chance to relax.
