30-Day Fanfic Meme - Days 25-27

Day 25 – Music – Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?

Usually, I prefer it quiet. I'm surrounded by noise at work all the time (hello, school teacher here!), and often at home, too (Mum watching TV, and his hearing no longer what it once used to be), so the quiet is a rare and most welcome thing for me. I can work while having some background noise - what other chance do I have? - but if it were up to me, I'd have it quiet.

Day 26 – What is the oddest (or funniest) thing you've had to research for a fic?

I honestly don't remember. Perhaps the question whether a guy can have an orgasm when he doesn't have testicles, due to a birth defect? No, really, that was a serious question when I was writing "Birthright 2". Fortunately, I've got my own medical expert in the person of [livejournal.com profile] ithilwen. Poor lady has sometimes to answer the weirdest questions coming from me. *hugs ithilwen*

Day 27 – Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?

I always write the first draft by hand. A story that I can't take in hand and read on paper, at least an early version of it, doesn't even really exist for me. I make the first corrections in phrasing, or adding details, when I type up the draft. I have to write first by hand anyway, as a great deal of my writing happens at school, in-between two lessons, when I have a free hour.

*laughs* Stories can produce the weirdest questions, can't they?

God, yes! If you remember, it was the part where Tyr had to bond to himself the two young Omega warriors - the twins by whom genetic manipulation went terribly wrong, so that the boy was born without testicles and the girl without ova.

Considering what sci-fi has come up with in terms of "genetic manipulation gone wrong," I reckon the research could have been odder! ;)

I've been thinking about my research and realized I won't be able to come up with anything as exotic as your answer. All my truly weird research is for original fic *lol*

That counts, too; research is research. So, 'fess up, sister!

Hehe, I will! Oh man, if original counts... All that weird research I've done on demons alone...! XD
