Cookie recipes #2 - Todán fánk

Another one of Granny's classics.

Ingredients for the dough:
140 grams of butter or margarine
250 grams of white flour
4 eggyolks
1 cup of warm milk (not too warm or the yeast would go wrong)
20 grams of yeast
1 tablespoon of white sugar

Ingredients for the filling:
200 grams of ground walnuts
200 grams of white sugar
4 egg whites, beaten to foam

How to make it?
1. Mix the ingredients of the dough , knead it and let it stand in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
2. Roll it out - it should be about half a centimetre thick.
3. Spread the filling all over it.
4. Roll it up with the filling inside.
5. Cut it up in slices about two centimetres wide.
6. Push together one side so that it take the form of little rosettes.
7. Bake it in a pre-heated oven until it's a light golden brown.
8. Roll it in powdered sugar mixed with vanilla while still hot.

Enjoy!

There isn't really such a big difference between Hungarian and German pronounciation. "Fánk" means Krapfen, and Todán is just a name, the a is pronounced long like in "fahren".

Hey, that's cool! I printed out the recipe to put it into my baking book and will write down on it how it's pronounced.
