Mum news
Mum will be transferred to a clinic tomorrow morning, for surgery, which will take place - hopefully! - sometime during this week. Or early next week. The sooner the better, IMO, this has been going on for too long already. Not that I wouldn't be scared shitless, mind you. :(
There's some "with great probability malignant" process going on, coming either from her gall bladder or from the bile ducts themselves. The doctors still don't know for sure, as neither abdominal CTs and ultrasound nor three different endoscopies could bring complete clarity. So they'll only see what it is when they've cut her open. *sighs*
She was very frightened when I visited her. But after I got home, she phoned me, excited, that our old doctor, who's retired years ago and is beyond 80 himself, had just visited her. So she's in a better mood now.
My boss is amazingly humane and helpful about the whole thing. I'm just about to forgive her a lot of her less than stellar actions towards me that happened in the past.
Good thoughts and prayers are welcome and much appreciated.

I'm glad your boss is understanding; that must relieve some of the stress for you.

(And that boss of yours gets some nice mental roses. Here's hoping her change lasts.)

It is not good to hear that they have not been able to see clearly what is going on and the sooner you know the better. The visit from your old doc was a good one, I hope he can come visit her often.
