Juchuu!!! Gewonnen!
Finally, we've won our first gold medal! I don't care if we won't get another one, I'm just ridiculously happy that we won't finish the Olympics without one. That would have been the first time in the history of modern Olympics (the ones on which we started anyway), and thus a serious blow for our national pride... such as it is in these days.
In other news, we survived the latest national holidays without any atrocities for a change. It was August 20, the 1008th anniversary of Hungary's existence as a country. Perhaps the hooligans were distracted by the Olympics, or by the particularly spectacular fireworks (Gandalf would have paled with envy). Apparently, the good old Ancient Roman tactic of panem et circenses is still working.
First step of domestic disasters has been managed. The supporting rooms like kitchen, etc., are now beautiful white and clean. Next week the wall-to-wall carpets will be washed in the living room and the bedrooms, which means that the whole packing will start again, this time in the opposite direction, so that the cupboards can be moved out of the way more easily. *le sigh*
Also, school starts next Monday again - assuming I still have my job. These things will always be revealed in the last possible moment. Wish me luck, folks, I'm gonna need it, big time.

Good Thoughts on the job front (and commiserations on the domestic upheaval).
Cheers :)

Wishing you all the luck you need for the school troubles, and then some more.

Thanks for the school-related good wishes. They're really, really needed.

And best wishes for Monday, I hope everything is OK.

It would be nice, though; I could write all day. *dreams on*

As to school starting again: don't worry ahead of time! (Sunday evening, 10pm, that's when it's time to panick.) Which classes will you be teaching this year?

As for classes, I'm not sure. There was a schedule in June, but that usually changes till September... and never for the good.

I hope they won't fire me after 13 years yet, but I can't be sure. I'm "old", after all, and therefore useless, not to mention in a higher salary category than people half my age (although it still won't make me even moderately wealthy), ergo one must get rid of me, sooner or later...

As for the work beign done on the flat: Courage, Brave One!
And work? I, too, shall keep my fingers crossed for enough classes and decent students that you can keep your wits about you and at least survive the last couple years you need for your pension.
[Oh, and I found that other book... I hope to get to the post office tomorrow on the way to work, but will e-mail you to let you know when The Autumn Package is on its way!]

Thanks for the good thoughts - one more year won, or so I begin to hope tentatively. Working schedule is horrible, but still better than no work. At least financially. I could entertain myself just fine without labouring, if someone else would pay the bills. *g*
As for the Autumn Package - you're spoiling me rotten, you know that, right? I think I have something that might interest you in exchange, but I'll set it aside for Xmas when I'm usually out of ideas.

Best of luck for Monday. Work might seem better once you're back in it - at least, I hope so.

Thanks for the good wishes. It seems that I can keep my job at least for this one school year. Working conditions are far from ideal, and it will be a hard year for me, but still better than being unemployed.
