Bought some new DVDs

Or rather some old ones. Quite a few ones, in fact, mostly travelling vids about places where I was (like Belgium) or where I'm planning to go (like Stockholm). But also some old movies I loved for some reason, although I still haven't succeeded to find a copy of "Ladyhawke"

In any case, I also purchased the old "Andromeda Strain" movie, based on the novel by Michael Chrichton, a book I useed to love. I also used to love the movie, decades ago, when I first saw it.

I was positively surprised that I found the movie every bit as good and exciting as at the firs time.

I love Ladyhawke. It's one of my favorites. I like, "The Andromeda Strain," both book and movie. There was a remake of it on one of the cable channels last month. I didn't watch it but I heard it wasn't as good and that they tried to make the storyline more "relevant" to today.

I didn't like Brothers Grimm all that much. Parts of it were interesting and it was visually well done but the plot was predictable and I was turned off by a couple of pointless scenes of animal cruelty. Although, I did like Peter Stormare's character but I've liked him in everything I've seen him in.

I haven't seen Brothers Grimm. I think, ater this, I won't be, either. I trust your taste. Speaking of which, would you recommend 'Blood and Chocolate'? I was flirting with the DVD for a while - it's on sale - but didn't dare to buy.

I'm not surprised that the remake isn't half as good as the 'Andromeda Strain' original. It's often the fall with good movies.

Oops, I got confused and thought you'd bought "Brothers Grimm." That'll teach me not to read and reply to things when I'm tired. But I still wouldn't recommend it.

I would recommend "Blood and Chocolate." It's a pretty good werewolf movie. My biggest issue with it was that it was nothing like the book. The characters had the same names but that was it. They changed everything else but for anyone who hasn't read the book, that won't matter.

Well, since I never heard of the book, I might enjoy it. Of course, as my luck usually is, all copies would be probably sold when I get back, now that I've decided to buy it. That happened before.
