Hard day

I've done one-third of the bi-weekly cleaning today: bath, loo and kitchen. All in one morning. In the middle of it, the janitor came to fix the kitchen sink tap that was slightly wobbly. For that, I had to empty the cupboard under the sink, so that he could scramble in. Joy, joy. But he did fix the tap, and he promised to fix the door of the kitchen cupboard that has refused to close properly for the last three years or so.

He also promised to contact some specialist team that might fix the balcony. I won't held my hopes too high, but it would be wonderful, right?

Barely had he left - in fact, I just had enough time to put the kitchen back in order - when the physiotherapist lady arrived. Soon thereafter I left for choir practice, buying some detergents on my way there. And salted caramel candies just because I felt I needed a small reward. Fortunately, there were enough people with a sweet tooth in the choir, so I haven't eaten the whole package alone. I even saved a few for Mum.

Our choir leader was overly enthusiastic today. Normally, choir practice ends at 18.30. When ten minutes later she started practicing a new piece, I simply left. There was still some daylight at the time, and I hate going home in the dark. There will be enough of that in a couple of weeks, and besides, Mum would have been worried, even if I called in time (which I did anyway).

Me-time was accordingly sparse today, but I did a tiny bit of crafting. I've cut out the basic parts for six more lavender sachets, selected the appliqués and the thread for them and did a bit of detail work on three of them. I call that success.

Writing-wise the day was even more meagre. I only managed a couple of sentences, but as we say at [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo, words are words.

I hope he can get someone to fix the balcony.

Oh man, choir is fun, but not after it's time to be done!

That would be a blessing indeed, not having to worry every time it rains a bit.

As for the choir practice, I hate it when people steal my time. I get to the practice in time, no-one has to wait for me, so I expect to be able to leave in time. Of course, now that I left before everyone else, it meant that I didn't get a lift home, and had to wait for the dratted bus over 15 minutes. :(

Waiting definitely sucks.

That was quite the busy day, so I don't blame you for cutting out on choir.

We have a firmly established schedule with Mum. It means we're having supper before 7pm. If we are late by too much, the whole schedule skips on the next day, re: my 8/16 diet. That happens more often than I'd like, so I try to keep to that schedule as well as I can.

Oh I do hope someone eventually does actually fix your balcony — that would be such a relief for you both.

Indeed, it would be. Let's hope and keep our fingers crossed.

Why do choir leaders get enthusiastic so often, just as if people singing there won´t have a schedule to stick to?

It is supposed to be their "artistic vein" or whatnot. I hate, hate, HATE it when it happens!

Fingers crossed for your balcony.

Thanks. I hope things will go beyond empty promises.
