My traitorous body

... keeps stabbing me in the back. Quite literally, in fact. It is enough to roll onto my back in my sleep in the wrong angle and I'm done in. Today, I got up with considerable effort and with a back as stiff as a board. And now the intermittent pain in my lower back is back. Oh, joy. As a rule, it takes weeks for it to sort itself out; let's hope this time I'll be luckier. Getting old is no fun at all. I see stretching exercises in my immediate future. And horse salve.

This didn't hinder me in going to the supermarket, cooking lunch , crafting a bit and writing a bit, but I do feel like shit. Of course, this dratted heat doesn't help. *sigh*

Ouch, that sounds so painful. Stretching exercises do indeed sound like a good plan.

If you're looking for vids, I have been enjoying her vids https://www.youtube.com/@GabiFastner Although lately I've been neglecting my back/shoulders since my self-discipline only suffices for one body part,, and regaining ankle mobility takes precedence

Thanks, I'll check it out!

I hope you're feeling better soon. Definitely try those stretching exercises. Walking is good, too, even if it doesn't feel that way. When, I wonder, is that heat wave going to break where you are?

We have been fortunate - a cooler front dropped down from the north on Saturday, bringing a few much cooler days (mid-60sF at sunrise, topping out at mid-80s, and now we have rain after a long dry spell.)

Well, forecast promises similar temperatures for at least another week and a half. We are not happy. We'll vegetate in front of the telly and watch the Olympics.

Aw that sounds awful. Stretching exercises sounds like a good idea. I really ought to incorporate some sort of daily stretching and strengthening too.

I hope that you manage to get relief from your back issues soon

Thank you. They come and go from time to time, ever since I overstrained my back in the Iron Age (1996) when my grandmother was bedridden and I had to lift and turn her in bed. At least they don't return too often. But they do so without the slightest provocation... well, except of sleeping in an odd position, it seems.

Gute Besserung!

Danke!

I can empathise with your back issues. I am always just one step away from back pain.

It is so annoying, isn't it? And one can never know for sure what not to do!

Ouch ... I hope it passes quickly!

Amen.

Ouch- that sounds like a painful Hexenschuss! Horse salve might help but is no cure-all! Stretching will mostly help to prevent relapse! There are also some interesting tutorials on Youtube!

Unfortunately, it is a recurring issue. But it will pass eventually... or so I hope.

I feel for you re: your back. It is funny, but I do okay with back pain during the summer months. When winter comes around with the cold, damp weather, all I have to do is breathe and all muscles and/or joints hurt. I guess it is all what you are used to.
