Trying out something new

I decorated them with freeze-dried strawberries instead of walnuts, which wasn't the best idea as they got a bit burned in the process. Next time I'll try blanched almonds. I'll also add some more sugar to the dough as both Mum and I agreed that the cookies could be just a little bit sweeter.

Other than that, I made another tag to the baby book and was generally lazy for the rest of the day. Well, we did have laundry day, so perhaps not that lazy, but a slow-going one anyway.

Edit: Oh, and one of my crowns has just come off without warning. So, a visit at the dentist's is due at their next available time slot - hopefully still within this month. *sigh*

I am not a big fan of cookies, but in case I want some, I want them sweet. Today I bought myself Apfelstrudel cookies in a bio shop. Oh dear, I think there was more salt in them than sugar!

Those cookies turned out really well, from the looks at least. I don't like too much sugar in cakes etc. and always halve the amount of sugar I put in rice pudding.

I don't like my cookies too sweet, either, but in this case the sugar was definitely not enough. The thing is, you simply need a certain amount of sugar to bring out the other flavours.

The nerve has been removed when the crown was made, so the tooth doesn't cause any pain or whatnot. I just have to be very careful not to break off what's still there of it. *sigh*

The cookies look delicious! Sorry about your crown. I am beginning to dread going to the dentist. I just had a visit and learned I need to pull another tooth. If this keeps up, I won't have any left!
