There's nothing like comfort food

Which is why I decided to make pancakes today. With two different fillings: cocoa and quark with vanilla and raisins. They were so very yummy, it made up for much of the annoyances of the recent days.

Other than that, not much is happening. We're trying to hold out in our personal little refugee camp and hope that all this will pay out in the end.

Kann ich mir denken! Morgen msus ich mich endlich zum Einkaufen durchringen (bin ich seit letzter Woche mit dran), weil die Eier aufgebraucht sind. Ich will endlich backen.

Pan cakes are comfort food, indeed. Though I prefer crêpes to pancakes, because we prefer savory fillings.

Crepes are the very thin pancakes, right? We always make those, I'm just never sure which one is the correct name.

We always eat them with a sweet filling. Mum prefers jam, but we didn't have any open at the moment, and besides, I needed to use up the cremequark of which I've accidentally bought too much.

I don't think so; it is similar to soft cheese, so it's a different thing entirely. But kefir works well enough.

Poor Mum, she so hates it when the flat isn't neatly ordered, she suffers a lot more from the situation than I do.

We have another hurricane heading our way. I've already reserved a room in a hotel, as we have too many large trees near the house to feel comfortable staying there. So, for a few days we will also be refugees. Hopefully, no more than that. Sometimes, the weather just does not want to play nice.
