Just asking

Does anyone else hate the new Author's bio pages and review board background on ff.net?

And: what are you guys planning to do with Yahoo's wonderful new marketing policy? Go to Marketing Preferences and block everything?

Any suggestions as of what would be the best path of action?

I haven't looked yet, but they did something similar...a couple years ago...I think. I just went and said no to everything. I'll probably do the same this time.

I haven't seen it yet, but it's probably all awful. I'll check it out later today

Yahoo marketing prefs & ff.net changes

I don't think it's a big change, actually - I went and said "No" to everything, and I'd seen most of it before. IIRC, there's some other aspect of Yahooness that's changing, and, IMHO, they're using it as an "opportunity" (read "excuse") to have another go at getting us to help them pitch to us and/or let others pitch to us. American law requires that they let everybody know when they are changing such things and give everybody a way to opt out, hence the announcement.

So, I'm with Larian: just go to the Marketing Prefs page and say no.

As for ff.net's new biopage, hasn't bothered me, so can someone explain what's so offensive as to be worthy of hatred? I've obviously missed something in my feverish state.

As you'll see from my own LJ rant, I think the new ff.net changes are hideous. Ugly, ugly, ugly - and unnecessary, of course!

As for Yahoo - I went to Marketing Preferences and just blocked everything. Honestly, I'd rather pay to subscribe to each of my Yahoogroups rather than get them for "free" if it would mean no spam!
