wiseheart | So, it is party time again, folks!

Each year this time, we launch my virtual birthday party, which starts on October 1 and ends on October 9 at midnight, sharp. The goals of the party are to post as many comments and collapse as many threads as possible, on as many new pages as we can. It is always great fun, as you can see if you check out the similar entries of the last few years.

This year, I'll also throw the real party at mid-time - and post the recipes of all the food that will be there for you, so that you can all participate if you want to. Virtual food has no calories.

Fandom-related discussions are as welcome as the ones about coffee or chocolate (just to name a few favourites from previous years), and, of course, pictures and recipes of birthday cakes. ;)

So, drop by, tell your story, post your pics or silly poems, ask questions you always wanted to ask and have a good time!

Hello, my loves! Thanks for propelling us to page 3, and sorry for being late. The party was a great success, my guests and I had a grand time. Mum toasted with us, and then retreated to my room (we had the party in the living room, the only one you can stuff 6 people in and still breathe) to nap a bit in front of the telly and woke up many times to our uproarious laughter.

The folks were greatly impressed with the variety of foods, and made heroic attempts to try everything. We'll still be eating leftovers for a week, but that's okay, as I made only things either Mum or both of us like, so at least we'll spare us a few days' cooking.

Even so, nobody managed to try the bombastic apple-cinnamon cheesecake, so I packed huge chunks for everyone as a farewell gift. :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention that one of my guests couldn't come because her handbag was stolen and she had to run off to get her credit cards freezed and stuff.

Typically, she was the one who had my birthday present. So I can keep looking forward to it till Tuesday.

I am sorry to hear about your friend's bad luck! I bet she is extra annoyed because she missed your lovely party; it sounds like it was a great success, but that really doesn't surprise me. You put a lot of effort into making it so!

I did, but I so enjoy cookoin and backing for others... occasionally.

Well, we can't know just yet. There's an awful lot of documents to be replaced, too, so she won't even come to work tomorrow, the poor thing.

It sounds as if everyone had a great time; and leftovers are a great thing!

They are, aren't they? Not having to cook for days compensates you for the frantic baking and cooking for the party. :))

I am going to have my dinner of left-over pizza from last night, now, while browsing through the new comments in this party. My left-overs won't last as long as yours -- I had some for lunch as well; three meals is pretty good for one order I think -- but then I didn't have to 'slave over a hot stove' for it, to use an expression of my mother's.

Especially after a hard day a work - who wants to cook.

The actual day is October 9, when the party closes. We just like to have lots of fun before.

I'm so sorry I missed the party. I was hiking in the Wicklow mountains and out of reach of civilisation. I hope a splendid time was had by all :)
