Looks like I haven't missed anything! Ah well, I didn't have any expectations, but it's still a bit disappointing to hear I was right :)

Given that it is Torchwood, I will watch it anyway when it's aired here. Except if I find it truly awful, in which case I might stop watching so I'll keep my good memories untarnished.
