Party time again!

Hi folks! *waves*

Time is flying by, isn't it? It's that time of a year again - I'm getting older. In this case, I'm turning 55 on October 9, which used to be an important thing, back under the old regime. Women could retire at the age of 55 back then. So I've decided to ignore all that fantastic headway we've supposedly made towards democracy in the last two decades and enter my virtual retirement, blithley overlooking the fact that I'll have to work another 7 or 8 or only God knows how many years.

So, let's party! Last years virtual birthday party yielded 742 comments on 6 pages, which won't be easy to top, but we're good, aren't we? WE CAN DO IT! So, let's give it a try! In the recent years, it has always been great fun, so let's have fun again!

You're all cordially invited to help yourself to a slice of virtual Dobos Cake recipe - it's my absolute favourite, although I never managed to get it as good as my Garnny used to.

Cheers!

Note: The party will be closed on October 9, at midnight, sharp. Join us and have fun!

We're crashing through this barrier!

Next goal 800? Or a new page?

We holed up in one room with the telly and piles of duvets! Got one room cosy!

Both!

That's good!

There was ice on the inside of my bedroom window - even when putting the heater in there on low all night, it didn't melt, but at least the the rest of the room stayed above freezing.

okay! :)

Reach for the stars!

Brrr. Ice on the inside, not good. Pretty, but not good.

One reason why central heating would be good...

Yay! Party time again! Happy, happy birthday! Lots and lots of love *hugs*

You mean the thing you and I would simply call stupidity? ;)

I don't have the time to take a closer look - some border decoration overlaps the picture within seconds! :(

yes! ;)

Well, in my intepretation not all Dwarves were master artisans or warriors. The lesser clans, the StiffBeards, for example, performed more menial tasks, and were accordingly looked down at. I could imagine one of them actually operating an inn, after the Ring War, when traffic and trade became vivid once again between the two kingdoms.

Makes a lot of sense - and they are probably still trained in weapons enough to protect themselves from anyone who thinks that they would be a target by being in the middle of nowhere.

There's no such thing as a helpless Dwarf. *nodnod* That's not how Aule made them.

Yes, thanks.
It looks great indeed - although I imagined it a bit more ruined.

*g*
But that can be a picture before it was ruined...after all it won't have started out ruined. :D

"Stargate: Universe" comes to the mind...
Although in that one, the older charcters were every bit as stupid and amoral as the younger ones.

Hello you! Welcome to the party!

I still haven't seen it - all that I've heard makes me very reluctant to spend any money to see if, but eventually I'll probably see it, and my expectations of it are very low.

Re: BBC's Robin Hood

Yes, I know Primeval had dinosaurs. Loved that show to pieces... at least the first two seasons of it. But there used to be a Robin Hood series with what critics thought incompatible ingredients for a semi-historic show. I never saw it, but I vaguely remember that there were a lot of strange things, according to the episode guide.

But now we have the power to keep our favourites - and to criticize them. ;)
