German picspam #1 - Herxheim
Well, as promised, here's part 1 of the pics I took in Germany. Herxheim is a big village - or a small town, depending on your POV - near Karlsruhe, and thus the French border. We lived here in the "Mariapfalz Center" of the Schönstatt-Sisters, so the first pics behind the tag are from the house itself. The others are just pretty places in the village.

The pilgrim chapel outside the house (not the one within - alas, I don't have a photo of that one):

The so-called Tobacco Fountain - tobacco, aside from wine, is an important economic factor there:
St. Joseph's home for elderly people (the saint's statue is on the front left corner):

The rest is just a few pretty houses, some of them with murals:
And finally, the little "train" that takes visitors on a trip around the vineries:
